Please review the Data Management Certificate Admission Guide The Admission Guide will outline the admission criteria specific to the Data Management (formerly the Healthcare Informatics) Certificate program as well as explain the timetable for evaluation and further admission correspondence. Please review this information carefully to ensure you submit a complete application at the appropriate time. Only students who satisfy all the application requirements and submit a complete application in accordance with the information detailed in the Admission Guide will be considered for admission. Before entering the first term of the Data Management Certificate "program courses," students must demonstrate they are at college level in Writing and Reading either through appropriate test scores or through appropriate course completion and must have completed any college level MAC, MGF or STA course with a grade of C or better and complete 5 credits which must include CGS 1100 and HSC 1531 from the Support Courses listed below. These courses do not have to be completed in the order listed. Candidates will also complete the Health Programs Application form. Please see a counselor or advisor.

Graduation Rules

In order to enroll in any program course with a prerequisite, a grade of ā€œCā€ or better must have been earned in all prerequisite courses. Students must earn grades of ā€œCā€ or better in all courses required for the Data Management CT curriculum in order to graduate from the program.

Graduation Notes

New graduates from the Data Management Certificate program are advised to take the Certified Associate Healthcare in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CAHIMS) examination administered by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
