Program Summary

The Associate of Science in Biotechnology degree serves primarily to directly prepare students for laboratory careers in biotechnology. In addition graduates of this program are eligible for entry into the Bachelor of Science in Biology program.

Job Related Opportunities

An AS in biotechnology will prepare graduates to work safely and effectively in laboratories that utilize biotechnology and may lead to a career as a laboratory technician in academic, commercial and associated science laboratories. The degree can also prepare students to enter the BS in Biology program.


Admission Rules

The complete on campus program application includes the following: a. The general college application and the $40 fee for new students at SPC. b. Transcripts from your high school (if no college degree) and any colleges you have attended sent directly to SPC from each school.
