Recent natural disasters and state emergencies have highlighted the need communities have to serve vulnerable populations during these crises. This need exists across a wide range of occupations that respond to such disaster situations. Emergency management directors prepare plans and procedures for responding to natural disasters and other emergencies. They also help lead the response during and after emergencies, often in coordination with public safety officials, elected officials, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies. This program is intended for students who have already attained an A.S. degree in the area of public safety or emergency management.
