LAE 3323 Methods of Teaching English in the Middle School - Credits:

This course is designed to integrate English Language Arts coursework with practical experience in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, for students preparing to teach in a middle school ELA classroom, and students must be enrolled in the field-based co-requisite course LAE 3940. Topics for this course include cognitive needs of middle school students, objective-based lesson planning, effective communication, and classroom management. The course addresses specific Florida Benchmarks for excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards for English Language Arts instruction, and pedagogy pertinent to the discipline and required for certification.
